In October 1999 Cindy Allen began hosting an NWT radio program entitled "Red Vinyl" on traditional and contemporary aboriginal music. As host of this show she plays aboriginal music from across North America, researches musical genres and background histories of artists, interviews Native musicians and provides commentary on current events, in particular those related to aboriginal peoples, music and the arts.
